Hiking

SEASON:  Year Round

From your cabin you can step right out onto 50 acres of woods and nature trails at our home base on Moosehead Lake. The terrain varies from deep woods with meandering streams, to lush raspberry and wildflower fields, to glades with unbeatable views of the lake and mountains. You will see moose prints along the way, and if you are lucky you’ll catch the moose himself taking a drink from the stream. Our trails are perfect for light hiking and snowshoeing.

The Moosehead region is a hidden gem for hiking enthusiasts. Beginner to advanced hikers can find a rich variety of trails and mountains with hidden ponds, spectacular views, and plenty of wildlife. For our hiking guests, we have created directions and descriptions of area day hikes that vary in difficulty from gently family hikes to strenuous portions of the Appalachian Trail.

The following trails are excellent day hikes.
